POS System Saudi Arabia — FAQ

The questions Saudi restaurant owners ask most before switching to a new POS.

What is the best POS system in Saudi Arabia?
The best POS system for a Saudi restaurant must be (1) ZATCA Phase 2 compliant with proper UBL XML, signatures, and QR codes, (2) bilingual native Arabic + English, (3) integrated with Mada/Moyasar/HyperPay, (4) connected to Talabat, Jahez, HungerStation, and Keeta, and (5) offline-capable. Saheeh meets all 5 criteria starting at SAR 99/month.
How much does a POS system cost in Saudi Arabia?
POS pricing in Saudi Arabia typically ranges from SAR 99 to SAR 1,500+ per month, depending on features and branch count. Saheeh Starter is SAR 99/mo, Growth is SAR 249/mo, Enterprise starts at SAR 499/mo. Most competitors (Foodics, Marn) start at SAR 249–299/mo and add setup fees of SAR 1,000–1,500.
Which POS systems are approved by ZATCA?
ZATCA does not "pre-approve" POS systems. Instead, restaurants self-register their EGS (E-invoice Generation Solution) on the Fatoora portal. Any POS that produces compliant UBL 2.1 XML invoices, XAdES signatures, TLV QR codes, and hash chains meets ZATCA Phase 2. ZATCA does publish a voluntary Solution Providers Directory, but inclusion is optional, not required.
Do I need a separate POS for ZATCA Wave 24?
If your current POS does not produce UBL 2.1 XML with valid signatures, you must upgrade or switch before June 30, 2026. Wave 24 fines range from SAR 5,000 to SAR 50,000 per violation, and QR code violations alone can cost SAR 10,000 per invoice. The fines exemption also ends June 30, 2026.
Can a Canadian company sell POS software in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Software-as-a-Service can be sold to Saudi businesses from any country. Saheeh is operated by Black Layers Corp, registered in Alberta, Canada. We host production data on AWS Bahrain (me-south-1) for PDPL data residency compliance and serve customers with bilingual support.
What's the difference between cloud POS and on-premise POS?
Cloud POS (like Saheeh) runs on remote servers, syncs automatically, works on any device, and updates without IT visits. On-premise POS runs on a local server in your restaurant — you own the hardware but pay for maintenance, updates, and backups yourself. For most Saudi restaurants today, cloud POS is the better choice because of ZATCA's online reporting requirements.
How long does it take to set up Saheeh POS?
Most single-branch setups go live within 24 hours of signup: menu import, ZATCA registration assistance, payment connection, and staff training included. Multi-branch chains take 3–5 business days.
Is Saheeh POS available outside Saudi Arabia?
Yes — we serve the GCC region: Saudi Arabia (primary), UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman. The same technical foundation supports each country's specific tax/invoice requirements.

50 Days. Then ZATCA fines start.

Don't wait until June 30. Restaurants that switch in May are compliant by mid-month. Those who wait pay the fines.
